Dental Crown

A dental crown can help to protect the tooth and recover your smile if your tooth has issues such as decay, cracking, discoloration, chipped or others, and filling is not sufficient for the tooth or when damage to the tooth is extreme and beyond repair. A crown is most commonly used to protect and strengthen a tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restoration.

However, some crowns, especially porcelain crowns, can also be used to cover teeth for cosmetic reasons. If you are not happy with your smile, then a dental crown can help to improve it.

A dental crown can be made from porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, Zirconia, metal alloys, or a full gold crown.  Porcelain finished dental crown is best to maintain a natural look and feel, and it can be matched to the shade of your other teeth. Also, Porcelain finished dental crown will allow it to blend in and appear like one of your natural teeth.

Fitting a crown requires at least two visits to our office. In order to make the dental crown, we remove decay, shape the tooth by filling the enamel to create enough room for the crown then take an impression of your tooth to be sent to the dental lab for fabrication of the dental crown. You will get a temporary dental crown on the same day; then you will come back for a follow-up visit to get your final dental crown.
